All you need to know about Ireland's biggest Gardening website.
• What is Garden.ie?
Garden.ie is the sister website of The Irish Garden magazine published by Mediateam Ltd.
• How much does it cost to become a member?
It's completely free for all members.
• How can I get my company involved with Garden.ie?
Contact us here.
• How can I join Garden.ie?
Joining Garden.ie is very easy. Simply set up an account by clicking here where you will be asked to enter a User name, your e-mail address and password. Once set up you can click on "edit profile" and start telling other members all you want to share about you and your garden.
• I'm new to Garden.ie and have a gardening query, who can help me?
Go to Ask Gerry, Gerry Daly has answered over 4,000 questions. Another valuable source of information is the collective experience of the 9,000 members who have joined and shared information with each other. This can be accessed in the Talk section and in the Members' Profile pages.
• What are journals?
Journals are a great way of sharing your experiences, opinions and thoughts on gardening, and of keeping a record. To create a journal, having joined, simply click on the Journal tab and click to start a new journal.
• I'm new to Garden.ie, how do I find my friends or like-minded people from my area?
On the Club homepage go to the third panel on the right hand side, called Find Members and you can search through our member database for members, if you know their Screen name, or by county. Once you find them you can click "add to friends" and send a short message introducing yourself.
• How do I upload photographs?
Uploading photos is a very simple process. Simply go to your profile page and click "Photos" .
You will be prompted to enter a name for your photo album. Once you click "Add photos" you will be brought to a screen which allows you to enter a number of photos at once. Once you enter a name or a comment for your photo, click "Choose file" and select your photograph from your computer.
• Is it possible to make uploading photographs quicker?
Yes, the reason it occasionally for some members takes so long to upload some photos is because the file size of photographs imported from cameras is quite large and they have no broadband service. If you are on a dial-up service, and even if you are on broadband, reducing the size of the files before loading will make loading much quicker. Use a digital photo editor (found by a quick Google search and downloaded) to reduce picture file sizes.
• Will Garden.ie pass my details on to Third Parties?
• What do I do if I suspect untoward material or behaviour on Garden.ie?
Contact us immediately and we will respond on the next working day.
