I need to find out what trees and shrubs i need to get in order to achieve the above garden. can you help me? it's a new build. wombat, mullingar, Co Westmeath Posted: 22/03/2010

This design is intended to give plenty of scope for someone who likes to grow a range of plants, so many different kinds can be accommodated, and this is a matter of choice.

A few suggestions:

The boundary planting should be of native species, such as birch, hazel, holly and hawthorn, perhaps with a fw oaks and wild cherry.

More decorative trees and shrubs can be used within the garden, such as maples, magnolias, sorbus and malus. Any kind of shrubs and perennial flowers can be used in the mixed border areas, choosing a mix that flowers at varied times of year.
