A 'sick' Red Robin tree

A 'sick' Red Robin tree

Our large Red Robin is sick. It's in a dark damp corner beside the shed, but was thriving up to about 2 years ago. The leaves are sparse, limp and dark, but no spots. There's another tree/shrub (wild & unknown) nearby but not that close. I planted the Red Robin about 12 years ago, shortly after we moved in. I was going to 'cull' it, but would like to try and save it now, as one of the 30-40% of stuff I planted that actually worked! Photo included. Ultan, Clonee, Co Dublin Posted: 07/06/2017

It looks like it has died of a root rot disease, especially if the soil  is heavy.
