Yellow lichens on house wall

How would recommend that I control/eradicate yellow lichens on the south facing wall of our dwelling house, covered with 30 year old Boston ivy - can I avoid killing this creeper with your suggested treatments ? jfvq12, clonmel, Co Tipperary Posted: 23/01/2018

The first suggestion is to simply live with it ... no effort involved. They have their own charm.

Algicidal products for masonry also control lichen but can be too strong for plants. You might try Milton, which is used for sterilizing baby's bottle, on  a portion of the wall as a test. It might be strong enough without damaging the creeper.

Lichens are slow-growing but likely to return if the growing conditions are unaltered.
