Rambling Rose Fallen Over

I have a large "Rambling Rector" rose which has been completely blown down in the wind, including the trellisses. Would it be possible to cut the whole thing near the ground? Will that kill it or will it grow back next year? JohnnyBlackrock, Blackrock, Co Dublin Posted: 12/09/2011

You cut cut it down and let it re-grow,

But if it is not broken you could take out the damaged trellis, put up a strong support and re-tie it.

The rose can rest on the ground while the support is made ready, or you could do a half-way house between the two alternatives.
