Happy New Year Alan. I see you are practically living on the side of a hill or is it a mountain. The snow is really piled up around your place. Here in Raheny the snow is not so bad but the roads and footpaths are still a bit icy. The forecast for the next three days is for similar type weather. Maybe by next weekend it will have passed away.

We've had rain here but there is still the odd slippy patch. I think you are in one of the worst affected areas. Here's hoping it won't last too much longer.

lovely picture, I must live in the only place that hasn't had snow :O(

It has been freezing pretty bad though and the roads are lethal.

Raised beds

16 April 2009 20:36:25
What a lovely day in Cavan. I built a raised bed beside our patio wall opposite the kitchen window. Very easily done with two railway sleepers we had left over from last year, which I had already painted. I filled the bottom with builders rubble left over in my neighbours garden, which he was glade to get rid of. One end I created an Alpine area and the rest I'll fill with blooms. I also planted out my chitted potatoes. My water feature pump gave up the ghost (not even a year old) complained about it. New one arriving Monday.

Over the past week or so, I've added a Bramley Apple and a Pear tree to our garden. Our Daffs have started to bloom which shows up "wild bank" at the back of the garden. Finally got our Mower serviced. Looking forward to better weather over the next few weeks to get things going.
