Grass cut

No electricity here all day today, the ESB are working on upgrading the lines in the area. A great time to get out in the garden and start the work that needs to be done. First job was to change the oil in the lawn mower and then start using it. I got all the grass cut and then gave the mower a real good cleaning, so I'm pleased with that. I then started to weed in around the shrubs and got a fair bit done. Now that I've started I hope to carry on every day for a few hours untill its back to looking good again.

Well, Helloooooo, Noel. I thought that maybe you had emigrated to warmer climes. Good to hear that you got out and did a bit. Lucky you getting the grass cut. I'll bet the place looks really neat now.

Just returned home from a long break away and found new friends in the garden doing a great job for me. The first thing I thought of was dinner but then I thought, no let them have dinner and maybe later on in the spring when their job is done I will go back to my first thoughts.

Yea Jacinta still here. Spent a lot of the year over here, should be going home in Febuary and staying home (I think). I have been on the site from time to time checking up on everyone. Going out for night cap now.

Hi Gracedieu lass, yea the surfing over here is heaven for all the lads and lassies that are in to it. They spend the whole day out there enjoying themselfs. Wonderfull to watch. For me the only surfing I do is on the net. O to be young again.

Noelfitz, there is 3 Noels over here, there is old Noel he is a year older than me, big Noel (17 stone in old money) and little Noel an army man from Drogheda very fit lad but not to little. Our three birthday are this month and we all celebrate on the one night, great craic.

The countdown is on, only a few days left in sunny Fuerteventura. Going home on Saturday and reading the journals I am way behind on the gardening front. It's going to be a shock to the body returning home after being out here for 11 weeks in lovely weather. It's 11.45 now and 21degrees outside and gets up to 25 degrees in the afternoon, it's not going to be easy settling back in when I go home. I am looking forward to starting my gardening year though.

I,ve hibernated too... and for much too long but not in lovely sunny clime.. I am so looking forward to the season ahead in the garden... So much doom and gloom about and not a trace of it in the garden. Get a spade in my hand and I am so happy. I planted peas beans in my garden in October. no sign of them so I am going to dig and see if they have been ravaged by the frosts.. sprouting potatoes at moment, my spinach survived the cold winter and my onions too. Tough little guys... Enjoy your return to the green isle. Aspade

Thank you all for your comments, yes I have been kept up to date on the weather back home and I'm sure it will take a few days to get used to it. Yes Jacinta I would like to stay until May but I have to go home to vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!! joke. If I stayed would you go down and cut the grass for me on your day off?

Still away in Fuerteventura in lovely sunshine. I look in from time to time to see what's happening. Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and new year. I will be home in Feb to start my gardening for the coming year.
