What a great day today was I spent all day in the garden planting all the plants I bought over the last two weeks all in place and all looks great.

I weeded every bit and when I was tidying  up saw  behind  a big area I forgot to do ,but I hope that tomorow will be fine and I will do it my back aches but it was worth  it .

Side passage

Side passage

I just read last night in our local paper that this garden was open today at 11.am to 5 pm so sent a message to two Garden.ie members but a bit late as they were not able to get there .

This garden is only 5 mins from our house so I went at 11.30 and Admission was €5 to include light refreshments ...

I walked around the side passage and yes lovely planting but my garden is 100 ft long and this was about 50ft...the planting was lovely but not much colour very plesent Lady and I did meet an old friend and had a great chat and we will be meeting up next week so something came out of the visit..

Paper had ...... Carol....will open her award -winning garden in Bray next Saturday June 15th .........

Carols Garden has previously won Best Garden in Wicklow , Best Garden in Leinster and the Irish Garden Award..

Now all the gardens that I have visited from members here on Garden.ie you would have all won these Awards ..........so get going and enter .

No I was not dissapointed but expected so much more ..

I will put more photos up .

Sorry couldn't make it Clare.

Pwiseman Pwiseman 15 June 2013 21:49:10

lovely shots, but a bit extra colour would be nice

Jackie Jackie 15 June 2013 23:22:16

When you say it was 50ft long do you mean it was a small garden?

Clara Clara 15 June 2013 23:50:29

Jackie it was small,  but the paper said"   Award winning etc. and the best inWicklow and the best in  Leinster not much colour  so  was expecting more.....

Jackie Jackie 16 June 2013 07:42:08

Ah right gotcha. So I can imagine what you were expecting then.

Rachel Rachel 16 June 2013 12:12:20

Clare, the photos all look really nice but you were there and we weren't so your opinion is best. I would have gone with you if I hadn't been in Clare yesterday ;-)

JoanG JoanG 12 June 2013 21:58:16

You have the magic touch Clare; mine is way off flowering yet.  It comes from my mum's plant, so I'm always glad to share it. You're doing great with the camera now.

Great shot Claire. Lovely coloured fuchsia

JoanG JoanG 14 June 2013 21:31:34

Clare and others, I'm sorry I don't have a name for this fuchsia; it's been in the garden for years, survived being moved twice and flowers very well.  I'll take some more cuttings this summer for anyone who would like one.
