AitAlainn's Garden

I have a small vegetable patch with raised beds beside my tunnel where I grow some onion, cabbage, spuds etc. I grow some tomatoes, salad leaves & strawberries in the tunnel and get a lot of use out of it for propogating plants. I am also hoping to get a few hens whenever hubby makes the hen house!

We opened a self catering holiday home in 2009 so if any of you fancy a break in West Clare check out www.sandhillshouse.com !!

Probably the last........

18 January 2014 23:39:44

Im probably the last of the Johnstown ier's to post a journal on the great day! And what a enjoyable day it was -  picked up Biddy in Kilrush and travelled to Limerick to meet up with Joann and Deborah - from there we never felt the journey up to Johnstown and ye all know the rest so no need to bore ye! Thanks to everyone who gave me plants and I must say Im really looking forward to welcoming the holder of my prize - Hazel, to West Clare in a few months. It was great to meet up with everyone and thanks to all who made it possible.  I'm off now to catch up on all the journals and photos albums. Night!

Great seeing you again, you had great company in the car. I'm sure it was well packed on the return journey ;-))

Jackie Jackie 19 January 2014 08:12:27

You know I didn't realise it was Hazel who won your prize. Ah I'm so pleased that's great news. I'm sure she will just love it. Was great meeting you too :)

Jacinta D Jacinta D 19 January 2014 09:29:24

Hazel is going to love being in your neck of the woods, Nuala. Who wouldn't. Great to see you again.

Keego Keego 19 January 2014 16:39:32

Hoeys Hoeys 19 January 2014 18:06:12

Dick Dick 19 January 2014 19:46:34

Nuala, sorry that I didn't get to Johnstown and meet you and the others. Wasn't that a great prize you gave and didn't Hazel really deserve it. I hope West Clare is in a better condition, now.

Dick Dick 10 January 2016 11:45:45

That video was great, Nuala.

Dick Dick 25 July 2016 16:41:48

Great win for the Clare footballers Nuala, disappointing for the hurlers. I'm sure the success of the footballers would mean so much for West Clare.

Dick Dick 22 December 2017 11:40:58

Great to read and hear about the Great Wall of Doonbeg, Nuala. Happy Christmas.

Johnstown Get-together

03 January 2014 22:42:40

Happy New Year to all! Can't believe its almost a year since I posted a journal, but I have been clicking in and out all the time keeping a check on everyone! Fran called to me in October and he filled me in on any thing of interest that I had missed. I'm really looking forward to the get together to catch up with everyone.

Hazel mentioned in her journal that I was donating a prize for the raffle. I spoke to her a few weeks ago about my offer and she said why not, so I'd be delighted to welcome whoever wins it to our seaside holiday house in West Clare for either a 2 night weekend break or a three night mid week break (subject to availability) We are well situated for anyone who would like to visit the Burren in north Clare or the Loop Head Peninsula in the West and there are some nice gardens around as well!

For anyone interested, I'm currently running a competition on Facebook for a similiar prize, so a second chance to win! The winner will be drawn next Monday night, 6 January. This is the link: www.facebook.com/sandhillshouse  - I'd be delighted if ye shared it! Thanks and hope to see ye all on the 12 January.

Thanks Nuala for such a generous prize!

Dick Dick 14 January 2014 16:52:39

Sorry , Nuala, that I missed you on Sunday. The weather was not as bad as forecast. I left it until 10.30 a.m. before deciding not to travel. I saw on TV of the damage done in West Clare. I am sure a lot of work and money will be required to put it right. That was a super prize you gave. Well done.
