Everything in the garden is growing apace at the moment. The weather today was great to be out and about. About time I guess :-)

Lady Alice Fitzwilliam
These two are providing great scent in the garden just now. One is Rhodo. Lady Alice Ftizwilliam and the other is Azalea Irene Koster.

Visit to Blarney Castle
Spent a lovely afternoon at Blarney Castle today with some fellow garden .ie members. We had a guided tour throughout with Adam and Anthony. We were blessed with good weather and there is so much more to see since our last visit there. The guys have been very busy. The new water feature in the fern garden is beautiful and somehow finishes off the area.
The new hosta bed is fab ( well I would say that wouldn't I lol)
All in all a great day, thanks to Bruno for organising everything and to Adam and Anthony for all their insights and information.
I have put an album up -- hope you like it :-)

Back from Kerry after a few days break in lovely Sneem. Weather mixed but still managed to fit in a few garden visits. One was to Derreen Garden in Lauragh which was lovely if suffering a little from what I would call fading grandeur, in that it has some wonderful specimens of rhododendrons, azaleas and magnolias that were planted a very very long time ago and one feels that there has been very little planting done in recent times.
That said, it is a lovely place to visit with the garden sweeping down to the water and some really nice views and walks to be had. I don't think I've ever seen so many dicksonias in a garden and of course they are gorgeous to see.
I think it is very much a spring garden and there would be very little interest there after that. However, I really enjoyed it and would certainly visit again if I was in that neck of the woods at springtime.
I have put up an album, hope you like it :-)
