The National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin are holding a series of events during the month of
August. Thursday, 2 August: Lecture: From Medicinal to Agricultural and everything in between - documenting and conserving traditional plant uses in Oman, Dr Darach Lupton. Traditionally plants have many uses including crafts, medicine, agriculture and are an essential part of rural life in Oman. Darach, formerly of the National Botanic Garden is on a quest to document and conserve this knowledge and safeguard its existence for future generations. 8 August:Drawing workshop: Fusing Drawing and Science - Taking a closer look. This series of art workshops for adults fuse art and science together and fosters creative ways of seeing and exploring the rich biodiversity that exists at the National Botanic Gardens. Saturday 11, August:Children's Art Workshop with Niamh Synnott. Take part in a workshop that aims to help children get involved in guided explorations of the natural world around the gardens. Time 14.00 - 16.00.
