Boots, as on feet!!

14 November 2017 16:25:14

I know it may seem I am doing promotions for the large super stores but perish the thought, just thinking of some things that may be of interest as my gardening is restricted to cutiing down masses of crocosmia; not very exciting.

So Boots! I have sad feet. They get very cold and the feeling goes from them..sob sob. Well today in Lidl I spotted some boots. Waterproof , slip proof , 'furry '  lining and special thermo something insoles. Price €19.99.  They are ankle height. As I was on my way to walk Meg I put them on in the car park, a bit of a struggle should probably have got a size larger to account for furriness and socks but hoped they would stretch a bit and they did.  Fantastic ..and been in the garden and the feet are thrilled with themselves so cosy and warm will keep them on for the night. In fact I may never take them off!! So if you suffer from freezing feet get a pair, go on , go on  ,go on before they are all gone.  Actually think I will get another pair to keep in reserve.

Must check if they have them in my local Lidl! I got the last pair a few years ago but they are a size too big so I only wear them when I'm hosing down the deck -Oh! I won't have to do that any more, will I LOL

I must check that too. My feet are getting colder and colder every year. Good idea getting a spare pair too.

Definitely will pop in to Lidl tomorrow as these would be terrific for the garden. I have Reynauds disease in my hands, they blood drains from them in the cold, and they get so sore so I have to put on gloves all the time. So I can only imagine what your feet must be like Elizabeth!

Elizabeth, a good warm pair of boots is a must if you are in the garden in the winter as the cold from the ground can freeze you.

Great result Elizabeth, well wear!  I was in my 2 local Lidl's this morning (yes, we have two within five minutes drive of each other!) trying to find their advertised ladies ski jackets in my size to wear for gardening, but they were all too big.  Didn't notice the boots I'm afraid.  I wear an old but perfectly sturdy pair of calf-high wellies for winter gardening, with two pairs of thermal socks on the really cold days, and they do me grand.

Elizabeth, it looks as if you won't need these boots over the next few days as the temperature in your area will soar to 15 degrees.

Many thanks! I do have a pair of posh wellikens that I was given at christmas and on learning the price I was afraid to wear them lest a thorn pierce their precious sides. I have ventured out since but the point is that they have posh wellie socks to go with them so my tootsies should be warm as a result. yet those Liddlers are enticing as I like short boots or as Joan says -calf high-lovely description except i keep thinking of a little suckey calf!
