Lidl compost
Yea looks good. What compost do you use for seedlings and cuttings, Mairin? I usually use multipurpose. Just wondering if you get good results with the other.
I'll be getting some of that. But when are they going to sell the propagating trays - I'm all out!
That sounds like a good bargain Mairin. Like Jacinta I use multipurpose compost which covers everything from seeds to potting up plants. I will pay a visit to Lidl in Coolock.
I intend trying that Lidl compost too. Rachel did you try the €2 shops for the propagators?
We will be getting Lidl loyalty cards next......
Bargains like that will grow on everyone Mairin.I had already done a deal here in the local Coop for some during the week, but have had a call from two of my sisters earlier in the day about the great garden bargains in LIDL this coming week, incase i did not know. The compost is first on the list for them.
Not a sausage in our local €2 stores, Myrtle, or Heatons. I did check after recent posts. But I'll keep my eyes open.
Fran, we should get Lidl loyalty cards! We earn them!
Jacinta & Jack, I use seed compost for seeds. In theory normal compost is too rich for young seedlings. I think it makes a difference but can't prove it. I usually buy the cheapest compost for ordinary potting but like to get off on the right foot with seedlings. We all have our own way of doing things I guess : )
Yea Rachel, I was thinking of changing habits with seedlings and using the specialised compost. Might have more success.
Jacinta, if it works well already for you then don't change!!!
I need to know which is best. But I wont do ALL my seedlings with this. Just a few. I need to compare.
