I got this plant on the 'bargain shelf' last year. Wasn't sure if it would come to anything, so I chopped it up into three pieces. It had lovely leaves but all that died and I thought ......hmmmmmm for the bin me thinks!

Then all of a sudden new foliage appeared.....while others on the site were showing their beautiful  flowers and I had nothing!

Until yesterday evening when I noticed this tiny( and I do mean TINY) little flower.

Look at it, I could barely get a photo lol.

Nearly broke my back trying to get some kind of angle on it.

Are all flowers on Epimedium so small?!  I see some more buds forming. Oh the excitement ..........lol

Yes, Jackie, very tiny flowers and very hard to photograph. As it grow you will get more flowering stems and then is looks beautiful when you have lots of flowers dancing on wirey stems. They are one of my favourite plants.

Well done, Jackie. Apart from the size, there is a similarity to some Aquilegia flowers.

Mine took a few years to flower, Jackie, but now it has small sprays of pale yellow flowers.

Yes, tiny, but as the others have said, when the plant bulks up you get lovely sprays of the flowers.  One of my favourites too.
