solar lights

i bought 24 of these solar lights in september. i was delighted with the look of them and so i bought another 24!

however, the light dimmed very quickly over the 1st week or so, so i replaced the batteries with brand new ones hoping the light would last longer than just a couple of nights.

no such luck. i bought a battery charger and i'm charging the batteries everyday....surely this shouldn't be the way to do it....am i doing something wrong?

They really need to be in full sun to light properly I find the best ones are the ones with small solar panels that can be put in direct light

Bring them back, no way should you change the battery that soon, or be recharging them.

Herself indoors bought a lot of them solar lights. They lit up the place like a runway for a week. Had planes diverting from Dublin to here. Now you get more light from a firefly in a fog. complete waste of money. However I took them up, put them in a box in the shed. Every so often there is a blue glow of light coming from the shed where they come on

i put them all in direct sunlight (or daylight should i say!!!!) flitters because they have a solar panel on top of them and i thought that should do the trick but alas...

fran, i might just do that. i've just emailed the company that manufactures them to suss them out.

spider, you're gas! i have images of ET in the shed in my head now ha ha

I find they don't really work in winter because there's not a lot of light. Have also had problems with the batteries.

I have a fair few of them around the garden.  I notice the newer ones recommend that when you set them up first, you leave them off for at least 24 hours in summer time and 48 hours in winter.  This gives them time to give their batteries a full re-charge.

I suggest you turn them off and leave them off for a 4-5 days and then see how you get on.  If they have a switch for wintertime and summertime, they are better again as they don't attempt to put out much light in the winter.
