Tomatoes Potted up
The seed was sown early in January and true leaves were formed by the end of January when they were potted up.
They're looking good, Dick.
You certainly got off to a good start, Dick, and so early.
Is this the usual date for this job, Dick? All looking well.
(What do you think of Slaughtneil's progress?)
Well done, Dick. First away as usual. Mine are only just appearing. Mowed the lawn for the second time.
You are great to have tomatoe plants already. Hope the ones that your sister gave you do as well.
Dick they do look great and of course first off the mark as usual. I'm sure you will have a bumper crop. Excellent!!!
Margot, that Co. Derry club has done so well. They are in an All- Ireland Club final in football and the have done well in Hurling and Camogie. I had difficulty finding the place on the map.
Peter, you are streets ahead of me. I haven't taken out the mower yet.
Dick, the excitement is palpable. Not a bit surpirsed you found it hard to place it on the map. Its a townland in the middle of nowhere, N. of the main rd to Belfast, in between Maghera and Upperlands and Swatragh. Fascinating success. With some of the same players involved in both the football and Hurling. So, the Hurling is in a week or so, I think.
I agree, Margot. I did find it with the use of the computer.
Well done with the tomatoes Dick.
Our local team here (Mayfield) are in the All ireland Junior hurling final on Sunday next, I hope you'll be shouting for the Cork team eventhough they are playing your neighbours from Kilkenny (Mooncoin)!
Thank you all for your comments. Mary B, I have no connections with Kilkenny. My blood is a mixture of Cork and Limerick. I was very pleased with Cork's win, on Sunday but disappointed with Limerick's defeat. I was about 30 when I came to Carlow and joined the local Hurling Club soon after. Good luck to your hurlers. I buy the Examiner every Monday so I will see the result.
