I showed this Magnolia earlier on It has grown somewhat since.
Plenty of flowers on the verge of opening, beautiful. You should be very pleased with that, Dick.
Yes Mary, It was the first magnolia I have grown and it has survived several others.
I have a Susan in my garden planted many years ago and the flowers are at the same stage as yours now. A lovely variety.
Looks like they will be quite large flowers when opened
As you all see the flowers are large and have to open yet. They tell me that some magnolias will not do well in limey soil, which I have. Perhaps that is why some have not survived. The woman who sold the shrub told me to give it ferrous sulphate and I have done that. I admire your greenhouse Jacky, not green of course.
I took a few photos of them to day but in the uploading like a week ago it didn't work. The flowers are really big. I will try again to morrow.
