Trees show Change in Colour

15 September 2017 17:08:14

Walking through the front garden, I noticed a change in colour of some trees, in particular the Liquidambar. This tree has grown a lot in the past year but also has shown a change in colour in particular, the lower part and a little towards the top. Temperature is more like mid October than mid September and according to the weather forecast, higher temperaturesare not expected. Well to day the rain has so far kept away.

Yes, foliage is changing colour alright. I'd love a Liquidambar here, maybe something to keep in mind for next year. Yours is a good sized one, Dick. My Laburnum's leaves are turning yellow now, so I'm pretending that they're the flowers so that maybe we'll have at least a week of summer. Awful weather for most of this week in Dublin. So unpredictable, and temperatures are way down.

My Rhus are trying to change too! It wasn't very warm here today but bright and sunny for most of the day - quite a surprise really as the forecast was awful! Good weather for builders Hee Hee!

Liquidambar is a tree I've long admired and yours is an excellent specimen Dick; its autumn colour is spectacular and it's nice that you have the space to display it so well.

Beautiful colour and will only get better.

Thank you all. As in other years the colour will change to red and yellow. I am looking forward to it.

Yes, summer is really over unfortunately, but at least we have the beautiful Autumn colours to admire.
