These tender banana plants have been in the greenhouse for the winter. While the length of the days says spring, they won't be emerging for a while yet. I cut away a few withered leaves some days ago so they look a bit better. I saw Peter W's plants which look a bit better than mine. These are the tender type like his. Of course Peter lives in Cork, a bit farther south and nearer to the sea as well (I am about 40 miles from the Irish Sea). However I think I have fared well. To day it is a bit too cold not just for the banana plants but for Dick as well. I went for a walk around the garden and things look good. I still have some bush roses to prune but they can wait for a milder day.

Love the leaf colour. They look nice and healthy, Dick.

Well done Dick, you are making it look easy to overwinter them when so many struggle. They look great. A ncie day here today but no gardening for me as I had other business. Hopefully tomorrow.

Better for them to stay tucked up as the forecast from Monday evening on is not very good. They are looking great, but the winter has been mild enough and yesterday and today were great days for gardening.

Those plants loom very promising.

We had a really sunny day .  And as there was only a negligeable amount of wind, it was very pleasant, of course wearing all the many layers and tea-cosy on head.

I'm just visualizing the tea-cosy on the head.....thanks for making me smile!
