An hour spent in the tunnel late last night,.
Growing outdoor lettuce must be protected against soil pests,dalm slugs,and our feathered friends.Very cool damp weather will encourage on a disease.If lettuce gets a touch of any type of a check to its growth then bolting [running to seed] is waiting around the corner.Under cover [greenhouse etc] lettuce is even more open to pests trouble.Water with care,no point in giving them a soaking unless the compost surface is dry
