To me its like the Willow Herb, only it is a lot smaller.I notice the purple flowers among some shrubs in the lower bed.Or will i just class it a weed for sure and exit it.Only problem is the flowers look well.

Definitely a weed, John. I have the same that has self-seeded in one of my pond-liners. I think it's quite pretty so I have left it for this year. Didn't know what it was called though, so thanks for this post.

Yes, it does look like willow herb.  Pity it's so invasive as the flowers are nice.

To me, it looks like Rosebay willow herb.  It really looks so striking, sitting up there, straight, good strong colour etc etc.   its in a garden where I help sometimes.  I have tried to remove it, year after year.  I think I have removed all those long thick running roots, spreading along under the rhodos. And then 2 yrs later, it is back again!  Those roots are bad news.

Yes Fleutette is correct.  thats Rosebay willow herb and can be rampant. The bigger one is great willow herb (Codlins and cream) which has slightly more geranium like flowers.
