Vegetable garden work today.

Tunnel given a clean up.

Tunnel given a clean up.

Plans earlier looked a little on the wet side.I started from just after 5 am in the seed room to do some work there and had hoped to head for the veg garden at first light.Rain upset the plans then but by 11 am it was all different. The weather had some nice sun and no more rain for the rest of today.May have been a little cool but that did not upset things to much.I headed first to finish preparing some more of the old bean stalks to act as a valuable green manure and having all dug in i then moved on down the veg garden and started to remove some more clay off the new legumes areas.By lunch time i headed for the tunnel to do some weeding and to check over the winter vegetables there. Before i touched a thing i first gave the floor a much needed washing and sweeping down.In some of the beds, they needed watering and it felt just like working on a pet summers day.Overall i was content with the jobs done there today and will have a walk through the veg beds at some stage tomorrow morning to thing about the next move done in the vegetable garden in the coming week.

It was a relief that the weather improved as the day went on. It was an early start for you. You should think about an early night. Re-energize the batteries for tomorrow.

Thanks Fran.

Jacinta,im just thinking about that this minute. It was my intention to head up town for a while but maybe another time.

It seems like I see the sun light in your tunnel? As always, your garden space looks very tidy.

That picture was taken just yesterday Olga [thanks] and it makes a hell of a lot of a difference to gardening there. No damp air to fight off.Less chance with the likes of Leaf spot [Mycosphaerella brassicicola] disease.

well john.its hard to beat a tidy tunnel.i started to tidy it last week but i had a turkey catch her leg on the fence and was hanging upside down on it onemorning so i place her away from the others because she couldnt walk on it. i put her into the  tunnel in the hope her leg would get better.yesterday she made her way back outside to join the other so i have the floor of the tunnel on wash down and stings to take down.

Thats true Paul.Hope all stays for the better with the injury to the turkey. They are well looked after by you.A wash to the tunnell and all is back on track.
