Greenhouse cleaning for 2010.

Greenhouse cleaning for 2010.

Another lovely day, with a great stretch in the evenings. The birds could still be heard up to about 5.30pm.From just after 2pm  i got to add some of the 10 new miny beds to the vegetable garden. All filled and prepared for a selection of different veg, annuals and herbs.Getting on real well up to about 4.30pm until the wheelbarrow decided to upset things a little with a puncture.Dropped it off to the garage for repair and around 5pm i attacked the last cleaning up of the greenhouse before new seed trays added. All windows walls etc were washed down except the floor which will be done later in the week after all trays buckets etc are in place. Will collect the wheelbarrow around 4pm tomorrow, but if still not ready buckets will be called upon.

Ready, steady, go! You're away and a hack, John. On top of things, as usual, despite the upset with the wheelbarrow.

Shining as usual, John, fair play to you.

Thanks Jacinta,Ready to go all right but when i turn on the water supply to both greenhouse and veg garden im expecting a free shower or two.

Do you thing Mairin,[thanks] the weather man would send on some of the shining weather we all need.I would make him a free vegetable sandwich and maybe a glass of peppermint tea.

Bad enough when nature gets in the way of our plans, but what hope do we have when the wheel barrows are against us also !!!!!!!!!!

Evenings are really stretching on these great winter days it lifts the heart to see it.

Didn't you recently wash the greenhouse floor, John? Or was that the shed, maybe? Surely a useful job to do but brrrrrr............

Well done to you your so organised.  So looking forward to be able to get outside in the evening after work

Johnplotman Johnplotman 27 January 2010 17:27:27

Thank you all.

I washed the greenhouse all right Rachel, but travelling in and out of the place after the job is done then no chances can be taken.Having been walking around outside in other areas of the garden doing jobs and also in and out of the greenhouse, leaves cleaning the place, especially the floor top of the list.Pests and disease may not be invited but they will still try to pay a visit.

Thanks Una.It is great to be able to get out attacking the garden. In a short while until all hours i will be living in the garden. When our old friends the slugs decide to call back then it will be 3 visits during the night to the garden.Gardening especially with vegetables means a lot to me.
