Seed trays on the move.

21 March 2010 11:42:00
I wish.

I wish.

Despite been on the cool side in the evenings and the season is behind time, the sunny days banish them.Today for a short while some more trays will be moved out from the seed room to the greenhouse and tunnel but under cover at night time.Parts of the seed room will be cleaned over for new tray visitors.

Before moving on seedlings i water trays first and this means less damage to roots especially at dividing for individual plants.Damp compost allows the roots be removed sooner than from dry compost. On such a wonderful day, time will be spent for a few hours in the afternoon walking around the area looking through neighbouring gardens and watching out for new growth.Maybe take some pictures. No plans for next week in the garden apart from some light work like setting up canes in the tunnel.

Great to finally be outside without needing coat and hat, sounds like you're very well organised John, we are trying to stay totally organic with the veggies too so I raided the library and found a great book on the helpful bugs in the garden and how to attract them to the garden, there are lots more than I thought and I have seen loads of them in our garden at different times and didn't know if they were friend or foe.

Thankyou all.

A good book to read Wellie. One of gardeners main friends in the gardens are the good side of the bugs, and destroy the foes. One little line that might be of use to you, maybe you have heard so already, that is if the bugs move slow never let them go [destroy them] but if they move fast let them last.
