My little Pets,Petunia [Confetti Mixed F2]

Quite the opposite to yesterday and other days gone by.Today is damp, cold, and more garden plans upset.Spent a short while in the tunnel with no bending and even there,it feels more like late autumn that early summer.Readings from both there and greenhouse were not to far above a poor 3-4 deg. Some trays have been returned to the seed room over the last while.Quite strange to have to do so,and we in summer.Visitors like Grey Mould [Botrytis cinerea] that thrive in cool, damp, weather is waiting in the wings, and would love to pay a visit to the garden.A little chancy to enter in and out of the tunnel to much, with this spell of weather so plans are a little upset. On the upper side it is good to see some of the seedling trays doing well. Some will need moving on [pricking out]during the week. Now that plans are a little different with the tunnel and greenhouse, that might happen sooner than expected.Off for a local check up in the afternoon, with no problems, apart from the sight of the annoyihg poor and off-putting spell of weather.Petunia tray,[Confetti Mixed F2] coming on well.

That tray looks very healthy. We will have to live with seedlings inside for another while I think

Frustrating isn't it John. I was all set to get out there bright and early but put the nose out the door turned round and lit the fire. So am nice and warm and looking out at the rain and wind, hay-ho another day tomorrow.

Very wet in city centre today. Seeds look great.

Like one step forward two steps back John. Who said it has to get better. Lets hope. :-)

I shouldn't be bothered by the bad weather 'cos with a broken ankle I can't get out and do anything anyway. But it does annoy me just looking out and hoping that my emerging daffs won't get battered by wind and rain. Let's hope that this is our last blast of winter!

Its terrible when you think you are starting off the hardening process, only to return them indoors once again. Nuisance. Hope you are feeling a bit better, John.

Along with bad weather Franma,it is another setback with a broken ankle for you.Hopefully it wont be to long of a hold up with your garden plans.

Thanks Jacinta, all going great here and recovering very well. The cold weather is winning again having to take back trays inside at this time of the year.An awful nuisance for sure.

Johnplotman Johnplotman 30 March 2010 09:10:57

Thanks Theo.

Your Petunias are looking great. Some slug got indoors and munched mine. But I still have another tray.
