Not a lovely site, this time round.

Not a lovely site, this time round.

Yet again the weather is up to its tricks. This morning had snow, and now plenty of sleet and a touch of been bitter cold.Plans on hold up in the greenhouse and tunnel. Now that the start of April draws near, later in the week normally gardeners would feel a lovely touch of Spring weather.A little different now,at least for the earlier part of the month.Growing plans is more like those for September this minute. Now that the weather is upsetting plans i have to be careful not to sow to much tender crops to soon.Ample protection needed against cold winds that probably will decide to pay a visit, and also night frosts.

This weather really puts things on hold.  Please let this week be the last of this cold.

So many plans put on hold recently John. I'd say the large majority of gardeners are cursing this weather. I know i am! There's no consistency in the teperatures. Its so changable.

If this weather keeps up my kitchen and sitting room will become a jungle with potted  on seedlings.

No snow here in Kildare but just seen a car with at least 4" snow on the roof of it. I also hear that the Wicklow gap is impassable. "Spring how are you"

It has been snowing here since 7.30am. Not sticking, thank God. But very wintry out there.

The frost is not gone yet. Could'nt believe the snow today. To early yet to plant out seedlings.

Jacinta Jacinta 30 March 2010 18:55:44

Would you like me to hear your confession, my child!!!!!!!

Pat Pat 30 March 2010 19:43:00

John, its really bad up your way, didn't stick in Dublin, just miserable. If this keeps up we will have to rethink the plants we sow, or join Monkells if she is driving. :-)

Your photos really show how bad it is round your way. What a turn-up!

Thank you all.

Pat,i think we could be heading that way if much more snow arrives this time of the year.
