Good to see Green!

Good to see Green!

A good thaw here. The snow has melted off my cold frame and I am delighted to see some things looking good, these plants had developed more than the ones in the shed so I suppose that is the lesson I am taking from this is to start off slips earlier and have them rooted well before the cold of winter.

Fushsias seem to be rather sturdy - I see you have one there. I think I've lost the big ones in the greenhouse but fuchsias put on phenomenal growth in spring. I got three plants from each cutting I bought last spring so stocks can be replenished quickly and my cuttings have survived. Are you talking about the cold frame I saw around the back of your house when I was there? You are really blessed with your shelter.

Thats it Rachel. Yes the fuchsia seems very happy, that is a cutting of one I bought in Bloom "Prosperity". The plant behind to the left is the coreopis the same as yours, is yours still surviving?

Good question, Myrtle. Oops. I left mine in the ground!

Could be ok in the ground. they usually disappear in the winter and then you have them come up later, I have a yellow one that does that.

All looking pretty healthy there, Myrtle. Lucky you. Hopefully tomorrow morning, I will get out in the garden before I head off to work and have a look at my cuttings in the coldframe. Stuff in the greenhouse looks completely DEAD.  :(

It's great to see some green.  Still got the white stuff here.  I have not been in my green house since last weekend I'm afraid to look.  Hubby has been sent in.  His been lighting a parafin lantern in their don't know if it's done any good though.
