Strange that there is no growth, not spring bulbs for sure. Maybe Allium.

They look a bit like the lily bulbs that Jack gave me.

Lillies would be lovely! But I think they have strap like leaves as they are just starting to come out - the tips look like daffodil leaves, but as Fran says they would be further along by now and would be underground if they were spring bulbs like daffs.

I dont think the agapanthus would have survived, I think mine is dead even after a mulching and protection :O(

I pass a house everyday on my walking route where there's a pile of bulbs that look just like those and they look like a pink agapanthus.  I haven't noticed a whole lot of growth on them either but they do look just like the ones in your photo.

I'd be happy with any of the above - lillies, allium or agapanthus. I'll have to try and find out who kept the garden before - the lady who lived in the house was 102 so she may have had help!

I bet your going to find lots of litttle treasures.  Keep us posted.
