We had a lovely few days in Roscommon, from Wednesday evening to Sunday ..the weather was great except for Sunday when it rained...  we managed to get most of the tidying up for winter done...we took a few photos of the changing colours in the Autumn sunshine....we liked them and hope you do also

Your garden is looking terrific, as always. The trees in photo no. 6 are stunning as your backdrop. What trees are they?

Kate & Graham Kate & Graham 17 October 2016 22:15:33

Thanks Jacinta..they are just some Broad-leaved trees at the edge of the forestry ..it is just the way the sun is catching them that are making them look good, if you look closely at them they are covered with ivy...

Beautiful garden Kate with lovely autumn colours and I love your peacock (?) and the fabulous standard fuchsia.

Kate & Graham Kate & Graham 18 October 2016 15:54:26

:) Thanks ladies..yes Joan it is suppose to be a peacock,it is still very much a work in progress...the fuchsia is just an ordinary one but I cut out all the branches except 5 fairly straight ones, I tied them together and let them grow but kept the stems bare...

You have a beautiful garden, wonderful trees and amazing colour in the Autumn.

Thank you Bebe..yes I think Autumn and Spring are the best seasons .....I was looking at your photos and your garden is coming on really well..we also have used lots of rocks that we dug out of our garden, there seems to be plenty of rocks in Roscommon......

Bebe Bebe 30 November 2016 20:37:16

Hi Kate and Graham, around here the rocks are called Ballinagare slate and all the farmers use them for building dry stone walls as they tend to be flat and easy to use, and they look good too.
