Tweaking in the garden

Me with Zak (my nephew)
Well it was so funny watching Steve yesterday in the garden. I had a lot of running around to do, getting last-minute things in place for the Barbecue. Steve cut the edges and went round the grass with the lawnmower. I even saw him robbing some of my planted containers for placing round his new pond.
It was my Mams 2nd Anniversary, and as Steve is not a church-goer, he opted to start up the barbecue in our absence. This is the first time I have witnessed him taking so much pride in the garden, and rightly so as he has put so much work into it. And it was more-or-less the 'unveiling' of the new pond.
We were so lucky that the rain held off almost all day. The odd shower was only very light, and we all ate, drank and laughed outside until about 11.00. Then those with kids started to leave bit by bit. Well such fun and great humours all round. Dad's last words to me as he was leaving were "Your Mammy would have had a brilliant night". It touched my heart.
