3 Hardy Ferns

3 Hardy Ferns

Got nothing done in the garden today. Still on the search for a nice kitchen this afternoon, and decided to re-use the old cupboards out in the garage for storage. I will get a proper 'garden' section which will only take up about a quarter of the whole double garage, and Steve can have the rest for a workshop. Although there will also be a communal area ie. a 'dumping ground' for things that need to be cleared out of the house at short notice. The garage is soon to become the only place near the house that smoking will be permitted. So I don't intend spending too much time out there.  Tomorrow evening will be spent re-organizing that area.

While on the road, we just 'nipped into' B&Q garden centre. Got myself these three nice, hardy ferns Cyrtomomium fortunei (Holly Fern), Dryopteris erythrosora (Japanese Shield Fern) and Polypodium vulgare (Common Polypody Fern).

We cann't pass somewhere without having a look and then plants just jump into the trolley, the garden and workshop plans sound good. But question whose the smoking area for?

They look good, ferns always do I think.  You are going to be busy, nice to have all these things out of the way before the evenings get brighter so you can spend more time in the garden

Lovely ferns! Hope they like the cold! My "hardy" ones are looking very sad but no doubt they will come back from the roots when the weather gets a bit warmer.
