Against all odds

Against all odds

Against all odds

I only got a few minutes out in the garden yesterday. Every year after all my daffs and tulips have 'gone over' I move the pots in under cover of the shrubs down at the Wilderness area, where they stay until this time of year. A couple of weeks ago I brought most of them back out and am happy to say they are flourishing. However, yesterday I spotted some that I forgotten about completely.

This pot was underneath another pot, which was under another pot. How in God's name do they manage to survive in the most harrowing conditions. These were obviously a mixture of bulbs that I just emptied into this pot so I could use the other one. They look to me like a mixture of daffs and tulips so I will pot these up properly today and make them look like they are wanted! And note that the pot inside has broken with the bad weather even though it was placed inside another pot.

Just goes to show how little some plants need to survive or how much they want to flower :-)

Nice to find how well things survive without TLC I did the same last week moving bulbs from broken pots at the end of the tunnel planted mine into the corner of the flowerbed.

Thats a nice surprise-- determined little things aren't they  :-)

They defy everything in the same way that other plants need all TLC to survive.

Survival. I plant up pots with great ideas of colour combinations and that they will have a good long season of interest and when I take them out in the spring from behind the glasshouse, I don't have a clue what is in them, so much for all my plans. Mary
