Slug alert

Steve just called me outside. Slugs at night time are a novelty for him. The drizzle has just started. Maybe we'll have a thunder storm tonight to 'clear the air'. I have just squashed at least thirty slugs underfoot. Maybe I should stay out longer in future, for the sake of my babies.

Jac, I am out every second night. Some of them are huge. I must say the numbers have reduced a bit of late but I still wonder where they all come from. I snip them in two! UGH!

Tried beer and other humane methods with NO success.

Moya, I've done that. Horrible but it works. We don't have much of a problem with slugs on the limestone, but the snails have just copped on that we have a garden... :(

Terri and All,

I am getting really fed up trying to control the slugs this year...wasn't out with my WMD for the last 2 nights and see lots of damage this evening. 'Course it has been raining fairly steadily for 2/3 days now. AAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
