DAY OFF!

23 December 2009 08:19:06
'Tis the season to be Jolly!!!!!!!!!

'Tis the season to be Jolly!!!!!!!!!

I was given today off to do my Christmas shopping. Any other time that I went off to do this, I just came back with insignificant bits and pieces, and gardening books. Today, it's down to serious business. If I don't get something TODAY, it won't be GOT at all. Let's face it, there is usually more CRAP bought for pressies. But like Rachel, and even though my kids are NOT kids anymore, I still do a 'layout' on my bed to make sure that they both have roughly the same amount of stuff. Sad, I know.

Even though we have passed the 'shortest day', has anyone noticed how much later daylight is showing itself. 8.20am and it's still quite dark!

Take a bit of time to yourself too, Jacinta. What about a nice hot chocolate somewhere and some mince pies.

Jacinta Jacinta 23 December 2009 08:51:04

Oh Rachel, thanks for that, I had forgotten that I hadnt baked any mince pies this year. Going to buy them, for once. No time to bake at this late stage.

The intention was not to remind you of more work to do : )

Jacinta, cannot remember the explanation, but the day lengthens in the evening first, it is connected with been in the northeren hemishere, it takes several weeks to be noticing any dirrerence in the mornings. Will try and find full explanation for it. Enjoy the day.

Jacinta Jacinta 23 December 2009 09:28:31

I have decided that it's easier to get my boys gift vouchers so they can choose their own and do the same as last year go shopping with them after Christmas to the sales then they will get exactly what they want, so as it doesn't sit in a corner. What I'm hoping for is to be able to take a tree buying trip in the new year think that my wishes have been listened to.

Jacinta Jacinta 23 December 2009 10:56:43

Sounds like a great idea, Cloncaw. That would take a lot of pressure off too. Yea, you might just have something there. And it beats struggling home from town on the bus, laden down with big awkward parcels. And then racing up the stairs before anyone sees them. Ha ha.

Trust you had a good day shopping Jacinta, my granddaughter will be 11 in January and now she asks for money for both Christmas and birthday and gets great value in the Sales.
