Field Guide to the Birds of Britain & Ireland

Here is another excellent book on birds. This also has just sketches, and includes females, and juvenile plumage. I find this excellent. It also tells you what habitat a certain bird prefers. I find this quite useful. This is by John Gooders. This is my 'Bird Bible', even though the first 80 pages are given over to foul. Not bad since there are 284 pages in it.

I have a few more upstairs, but I find this one the best. We won't start another competition.

I actually use a couple of ladybird books I got as a child, and also a book I got somewhere called " a field guide to the wildlife of the British isles. I have to say the latter is a good book as it also has a section on mammals and butterflies.

I have that one that Spider has - an excellent book.

Looks like a good choice for a more detailed book but Spider's might even be better as it covers all wildlife.

My bird book is a quick reference to the most common European garden birds, it's called What's that Bird by Dr Paul Steery, it identifies over 170 of the most common garden birds from all over Europe, it has maps showing residency and migratory patterns. It's well illustrated.

Spider delighted you have some of my books!!!
