Weather Damage

Broken nyjer feeder :(

Broken nyjer feeder :(

I have just been outside to inspect the garden before I head off to work. The bird feeder was knocked onto the ground, together with my nyjer feeder for the finches, which seems to be broken. The lid won't stay on. Hopefully Steve can work some magic on it when he gets home. My Jasminum nudiflorum has been blown to bits. So far, that's the only damage I can find.

My camera is definitely on the blink. It wouldn't switch on yesterday morning, but worked when I got home from work. Now it isn't working again. It must be only 6months old and of course the guarantee is nowhere to be found. So this picture was taken with my old camera. This is on the blink too, god knows how long it will work for. I think I will be getting a new camera at the weekend, when I get my new alarm clock. Maybe Santa should pay just ONE more visit to me before the year is out!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure there was a lot of damage done last night in different places but glad to see it calm this morning and no frost but a very black sky. I think I may put the boots and coat on and take the camera to get some flowers for Bramley, might not get a chance tomorrow

Sorry to hear that, Jacinta. I think you do need an extra visit from Santy.

Such a pity that your feeder and plants got damaged in the storm yesterday, calm and sunny here now so bit of garden time might just happen today although it's still very nippy in the NE breeze. You won't know yourself if you get a new camera I'm sure Santy can stretch that far as you are such a good girl looking after the birds so well.

Hello Jacinta, A small jamjar lid might fit onto the top of the birdfeeder. Failing that cling film is "yer only man". Your camera may only need to be recharged or a new battery. Mine is a Fuji 'Finepix F50 fd' which i find to be very satisfactory. I haven't checked on camage in my garden yet but I notice that all of the Cosmos plants have been damaged by frost. My greenhouse is still in one piece.

Gales were terrible here around 3am this morning. Our trampoline got blown into the next field - might be able to repair it but not sure. It was well sheltered from south and west where we usually get the storms from but it was the NE last night so no chance!
