Beautiful, Liga. I bought Acidenthera bulbs this spring. SO far absolutely NO FLOWERS. Dont know what I did wrong. Very disappointed.

Jacinta-You have them plant in pots very early in spring(so i did in Latvia),,because they need loner time like to others untill get into flowers.Ask to Rachel,when she planted it,to her is very beautiful achidantheras.

Isn't the on-line journal a wonderful thing? I checked it to see when I planted my acidanthera bulbs - 2nd March!

Oh yes the journal is a good record of mood and garden and I've never taken as many photos in the garden as I have done this year and last.

God, what an amazing plant - it is so elegant.  I see it has to be protected from early frosts but well worth it.  Enjoy.

Mytle, don't buy them now. Hang on until spring. I got mine in Lidl/Aldi very cheaply in spring - you just need to get in early on the day that they appear (I sound like a broken record with Lidl/Aldi - anyone would think I had shares!)

you are not the only one rachel, constantly checking to see whats on special, alot of my garden is thanks to aldi and lidl. they are a gorgous plant but i read it can take a year, planted some and they never even showed their heads, they are very gracefull like swans,sorry alison
