Name please
This is the shrub I am try to do cloud pruning with. I did ask for an ID before I got an answer, but cannot find the journal.
It has small glossy leaves, scented, no flowers.
Any ideas?
Is it a Sarcococca?
My thoughts exactly, Bruno. Just looking out at mine, and it looks very similar.
Are you sure there are no flowers? Sarcococca's scent comes from the flowers.......
Don't think so Guys.
Just googled that plant, leaves on mine are only .5 cm long, Sarcococca seem to be much longer. I have never had flowers, fruits or berries in 10 / 12 years.
Alison am sure, no flowers ever.
Any chance it is Drimys Aromatica Fran.
Afraid not. Thank you all for your help.
There is two types of sarcococca, humilis and confusa which are the ones most often for sale. They flower at Christmas time, scented white flowers, which are borne on the growth made during the summer(it is known as Christmas box) S. confusa has smalller leaves than the humilis, which seems to be the one in your picture. There are many other species of sarococca. Mary
