This is just starting to flower now. Even from a distance it is the most vibrant colour.

Plant is doing well but seems to be very slow to bulk up.

Thanks Rachel ;-))

Lovely plant , was not aware that there was a blue one that flowered at this time of year. Mine are over ages ago!

It's looking great Fran. Elizabeth gave me some of her thalictrum at her open day which I've just planted and am looking forward to next year for the flowers, meanwhile enjoying the foliage.  Thanks Elizabeth.

Elizabeth, it is more a pink/mauve colour. It was very dull when photo was taken.

They look good all the same ;-))

Fran, if that plant came from me it's not 'Hewitt's Double'. It's just Thalictrum delevayii. But it's still a lovely plant :)

Deborah Deborah 18 July 2012 22:26:59

Yes Fran, it is T. delavayi, but that is no bad thing, as you have a real beauty there. Now find Hewitts Double to add to your collection. It's really gorgeous too :)

So where did I get the HD from on the lable?

Thanks Ladies, it is a beauty for sure.

Just googled HD, the hunt is on ......................... LOL

Hi Fran. I got Thalictrum splendide and T. HD at the Camolin stand at Bloom. The splendide is beginning to flower now and looks very like yours. It's quite a tall plant.

I grew 3 T. delevayii from seed this year and they are the slowest growing perennials I've seen. They were sown in March and are still quite small.

Great plant. It can also be difficult to get a decent photo it. So delicate looking, but sooo reliable. And it WILL bulk up in time! Great photos there, Fran.
