Bold Ducks

Naughty Duck

Yesterday morning the ducks decided to be bold and clambered up through the flower bed looking for food. Over the winter they've been fed as the weather was so severe they couldn't source anything from the pond or ground they're all looking in really good shape and waddle around the place taking off if the dogs approach. They did the same this morning coming up to the bird feeder so this afternoon I repositioned it as waddling feet would damage the emerging bulbs in the terrace bed there is one photo taken this morning of one of the ducks looking at a sparrow perched on a stone it's like - Whose been eating my breakfast ?

Ha ha. Cheeky ducks. I bet they cost you a lot in feed.

class photo's. i see from the your photo,s that there is going to be a few fights in your pond over the next few weeks. the drakes will soon start fighting with each other and showing off to the ducks as mating will start over the next few weeks.

No appearance of the ducks in the flowerbed today, Rachel well worth the cost just having them about, Paul they seem to have teamed up already as they are often in pairs there are 13 here most days of which 6 are drakes, one drake seems to have 2 ladies in tow.
