Still All Alone
After we moved into the house in Christmas 2006 two swans came and took up residence on our pond they would occasionally go off to other lakes but always return. On one of these trips they were returning by moonlight and one of them hit the electric wires as they came back towards the pond blew the fuses on the pole in the field east of the house. The one swan left on the pond looked heartbroken and cried and moped about on the pond for days and then left. This poor swan could be heard calling and crying ever since as it moves around trying to find it's partner. Today at lunchtime there on the pond was the swan still looking lost and forlorn after all this time hard to believe they don't find a new partner.
