Lily Bulbs

Lily Bulbs

Have been on a tidy up in the garden and on Wednesday was removing the brown stems from one of my lilies discovered they were pushed up in the ground so I lifted them they are massive also removed a big bone so obviously one of the dogs had been doing a bit of burying. This is a tall white and pink stargazer type lily any advice on what's the best way to get new plants would be welcome?

I'm not sure what you're asking really. Why don't you just replant them?

I just divide mine every couple of years, and enjoy the extra plants

I was thinking of you this morning Geraldine as I was watching an old gardener's world.  Carol took all the scales one by one from the lily bulbs, this was not going to affect the main bulb.  She then put them in a bag of vermiculite making sure they would not touch.  She then blew into the bag before sealing (no idea) and then put them in the hotpress.   She said in a few months each scale would become a bulb.  Hope this helps.

i would divide them and replant them maybe into pots for planting out next spring as far as i can remember i divided lill bulbs before, once there is some root on each piece they should take. when i do start to do my garden i will dig mine up and divide them

i would divide them. they are very big so you would get loads of beautiful lillies for free.
