Getting Back in The Gardening Groove.

Lone Anenome in NW Corner

Finally after nearly three months of no gardening I'm starting to get back into the groove managing to spend a couple of hours last Thursday morning cutting back all the debris in the NW bed. The weather was really spring like with lots of bulbs starting to push their way up such a difference to this time last year. Today managed to get another stint outdoors no sun but still workable, set to removing debris from the beds that run along the front of the house as soon as I turned the corner to the east gable bed I was met by a sharp breeze coming from the SE. Still a lot more cutting back to do but weather permitting the east gable bed will be finished tomorrow then I'll tackle the terrace bed and pots leaving the east bed and the south bed below the terrace till last. One job that has to be done is to rebuild the arch at the top of the steps that disintegrated in the gales so as the climbing roses and clematis are able to be pruned if it's not fixable then I'll need to source a new one. Another job on the list is to go for a wander around to see what needs to be removed or divided and where plants sitting in waiting can go once the tidy up is finished.  Fingers crossed I'll also get back to posting up comments and journals, my lap top seemed to be hi jacked by James since he came home at Christmas as he was busy studying for exams and doing assignments for his final year.

Hurrah! Hurrah! Great to have you back! Hope james' work is going well. You have ben very busy these last few days but as i think you told me once it will soon clear itself up and you will see progress. Bulbs are up all over the place. Am not at all surprised you are archless after those awful storms. sorry you didnt get to Johnstown. we had a ball!

Ah Geraldine, it's great to see you online again. Best of luck for James in his final year.

It sounds like you haven't been sitting on your laurels in the last while. Hope your health has improved a lot too. Welcome back.

Thanks all for the welcome back, I would have loved to have met everyone at Johnstown but unfortunately I had to work, hopefully I'll get to meet everyone later in the year.

I missed this journal of yours somehow, Geraldine. Welcome back. Is that a wood Anemone in your photo or one of the bulbous ones?

Good to see that you're back Geraldine. I took a break from the garden over christmas myself. We need to rest too.

Ah Geraldine you give me hope, I'm finding it very hard to get back to the garden this year, never enough hours in the day, but then we get a balmy few hours that reminds us that spring is just round the corner, now where can I get some energy? Lovely to see you back:-)

Good to have you back Geraldine. The first two weeks of January were great and the spring is not to far away.
