What on earth am I ?
might be the yellow flowering Verbascum - does it have hairy leaves?
Geraldine, I've just potted up the Courgettes - you sent me seeds probably a month ago. They seem strong and healthy with good root system. Awful weather here - raining raining all day and windy........
On first sight I would be thinking "Primula" of some kind.
Looks like a verbascum alright.
Sally cann't remember planting Verbascum there but it does have slightly hairy leaves great that seeds are doing well.
Ivor not primula as far as I know so will have to keep on trying to discover what I planted.
Jacinta congrats on being featured as Gardener of the month only got my copy yesterday.
I had a yellow Verbascum come up out of the blue last summer - presumed a bird dropped the seed. They grow to 5-6ft but are very sturdy. Not exactly my cup of tea, but its appearance always remarked on in a garden!!! No it's definitely not a primula - too vulgar!!!!
I've had the same as Sally. Verbascum pop up everywhere - a gardening gift! I don't recognise the leaves from any of the types of verbascum I grow though.
Thanks Geraldine.
