Primula growing since planting out.

Starting to rise in the sunshine

Starting to rise in the sunshine

On Easter Sunday I planted out Drumstick primula that were very stunted by the cold. There was no stick at all but slowly but surely the white head is rising from it's new location in the terrace bed, not sure if the others will develop flowers or not. Lots of buds appearing including allium , hyacinths and tulips and the dicentra is going to put on a real show as mass of buds are nearly open.

This afternoon I went to a nursery at Doohamlet, we bought a lot of trees from whips upwards there 2 years ago and need more trees for either side of the driveway which has to be finished before the June wedding. On Tuesday have to collect horse chestnuts, mountain ash, small birch and will see if Johnny agrees to a couple of large beech trees which are at a very reasonable cost. I also picked up some dogwood to plant near the pond which I brought home in the can but the others need to go into the horse trailer I think. Monday I'll try to buy cover for the polytunnel and with any luck maybe I'll get an hour or two in the garden tomorrow late afternoon once I'm finished work.

Those white drumstick primulas are really lovely I think! I have a few in flower at the moment around the garden, from 2 bought last year and divided in the summer. They look very pretty in a pot on their own also...

Little primula looks lovely - all those trees will look fab when they are established and a June wedding to look forward to - it is great to have any event get a lot of things done in a short space of time - We have communion in May so pressure on!

Oh great idea. Every gardener should have a horsle trailer. Great for buying stuff, or getting rid of stuff. But then, I can't see Steve even getting a TOW-HITCH for his car.  Well done, Geraldine. Tomorrow is to be great again.

Laughed when I saw this Conclaw as I saw one on Rachel pics then found one in my garden and then I see you have one (all white drumsticks) it looks cute though.

Bill it's slowly stretching everyday there are some others but no more buds on them just bunty leaves, funny before I lifted and divided it I'm sure it was yellow.

Thanks everyone for the comment think I'll try some more for next year.
