The National Garden Exhibition, Wicklow

Today we had a visit to the National Garden Exhibition Centre in Wicklow. It had been a number of years since I had last been there and I was impressed as to how much it has developed over the years. Some of the designs were very good and the planting reflected the theme of each of the gardens. Some did not appeal to me but that is to be expected as our tastes in gardens are different, We had a lovely day there and of course came home with a number of plants. I was delighted to track down Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight' for my white garden. I also bought three dark blue delphiniums, a Geranium cantabrica 'Karmina', a Rodgersia 'Bloody Mary' and a Brunnera macrophylla 'Betty Bowring' another plant for my white garden. Mary

A great place to visit for inspiration. Rachel, I fell in love with the H. 'Limelight' when I saw it in The Bay last year. Pity we did not meet up to day as the garden you and Myrtle visit looks beautiful. Mary

P.S Having difficulty opening our journal' Look what's opening'.

Many thanks mary for gorgeous pictures. Ill definitely make a day of it! 'Bloody mary?' I must get that for the Scrub. I can say it was named after a friend of mine!!!! Who is the man the ducks are feeding?

Perer, I also bought the rodgersia for the name. The man is very partial to a roast duck with a nice cherry sauce. Mary
