I've been a bit busy the past few weeks oveseeing Elizabeth's renovations. My car can find its own way to Dublin now - and every day going up and down I had to pass my favourite haunt - Johnstown of course! Most days I was in too much of a hurry to stop, or was tired and anxious to get home but one day ... it had to happen ... I wasn't under time pressure ... and Jim in Johnstown had told me the plant i was looking for had come in ... and I still had a balance on my Gift Voucher ... and Elizabeth was with me to lead me astray ... Nuff said.

Exochorda Macrantha The Bride "The Pearl Bush" now lives in Gortnalee!

Other people do great "un-boxing" videos but I can only manage an "un-wrapping photos" set :-(

We didn't get home till almost dark but I couldn't resist going out and potting it into the spot I had chosen for it beside the Pergola!

Now that does look like a spectacular shrub you got there Hazel. And well worth the wait I bet! It had to happen didnt it? Passing by day in and day out and eventually you are drawn in LOL . Good on you for resisting so long too!

Now that looks worth waiting for and will be gorgeous beside your pergola, Hazel.  Best wishes to Elizabeth and yourself for the renovations.  It can be a stressful time and I hope it all turns out well.

Weren't you just great to have such self-control not to have stopped off sooner at Johnstown?  I bet it was even better having had to wait.

You chose a great plant that will do well for you.  Does well up here.  I hope the renovations have gone well.

It's a great little shrub. You chose well, Hazel. Regards to Elizabeth. I'm sure she's delighted to have little sis for support.

My mum bought me one last year and it tried to flower in December with tiny white buds but then stopped, I think it realised it was not time yet so hope it will be okay when it does comes to flowering time!    Hope yours does well too!
