My son and his little family in Bardelona treated me to a trip to celebrate a "significant" birthday and I was delighted to talke up the offer and spent a lovely week in Barcelona. Arriving back I was greeted by a delightful display of my favourite Spring flowers - the humble Daffodil! But of course there were lots of other Spring flowers to enjoy! Putting up a journal hopefully capturing my delight in how the Spring aspects of my garden have matured.

Aw, that was a lovely treat from your family. I hope it was warm enough to give you that pep in your step. And your garden is a real retreat to come home to, no matter who you have been with. It's looking lovely. It's great to see new things opening up every day too.

What a lovely birthday present. I am sure your little granddaughter is growing up fast. There is a blie and yellow theme going on in your garden which looks gorgeous.

Have to say how impressed I am at the beautiful display in your Garden, everything looks so natural and unspoilt...that was also a lovely gesture from the Family...hope you enjoyed your break in Barcelona...

That was great, Hazel, having a holiday, in Spain. I hope you got good weather, although one might say: The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain. We had excellent weather here but it is back to normal, now. Your garden is super. A Happy St. Patrick's Day to you.

Im sure you have a wonderful time with your family in Barcelona and how thoughtful of them too.  Fantastic photos of a fantastic garden too, Hazel, really lovely.

Thanks for all the lovely comments! Jackie that is Virtually Beth Evans. It disappears completely when it finishes flowering and I forget about it for the rest of the year! Every Spring it reappears and delights me!

Oh Hazel how beautiful and natural it looks. Im off to see the photo journal now! Hope you had a beautiful time in Barcelona for that fiftieth! Have gone to the journal and spent a lovely time 'walking' around your garden. Really lovely and of course I love the rocks! Virtually Beth Evans? But what species is it-excuse my ignorance!

Sorry Jackie - predictive text got in the way! - should be Corydalis Solida Beth Evans

Such a nice birthday present, I'm sure you enjoyed every minute with the family.  Hazel, I've visited your garden in summer and know how beautiful it is then and your spring photos are just a delight for the eyes.  What lovely planting, it took my breath away, especially the front garden.

Yes Hazel I googled it, it's a beauty. Must keep a lookout for it.
