Good idea to keep colour coming, I have them growing with climbing roses and also with wisteria for that reason.

Geraldine they are not good with roses, they strangle them, unless you pick a very small form. Hi Monkells I knoweth not the name.

Martin were I have it growing with roses is on an arch had no problems last year but will keep an eye on them this year and if need be change my planting later in the year.

I'm glad you mentioned about the strangling I was thinking of putting a clematis with a rose, won't be doing that now.  Very pretty clematis

I must do that in my garden. A good trick to get maximum flowers!
