I have a dead fish in the pond.
Boil up a kettle of water, Martin, and pour slowly into the ice. It should melt it, without the other fish suffering the shock waves.
Think the above advice is as good as you will get, should work fine.
Poor soul.
No good I tried it, the inch or so of rain water on top cools it off too quick
It might take 3 or 4 kettles to do the trick Martin, you have to keep doing it. One kettle doesnt do the job so thoroughly.
leave a saucepan full of hot water on top of the ice it will melt a hole in ice
Or if the pond if close enough to the house, connect a hose up to the hot tap and run it onto the ice.
